Farmer (Jason Statham) som er en ydmyg familefar, lever et liv i al stilfærdighed, men en dag ændres hans liv radikalt, da hans landsby bliver plyndret, søn myrdet og smukke kone kidnappet. Opildnet og med sværdet i hånden drager Farmer ud i landet for at befri sin kone og han fi nder hurtig ud af, at det ikke kun er hans landsby, der er blevet plyndret. Den onde troldmand Gallian (Ray Liotta) og hans hær af onde bæster har nemlig sat sig for at vælte kongen (Burt Reynolds). Sammen med kongens mænd kæmper Farmer en indædt kamp mod de onde kræfter, og det skal snart vise sig, at han har en styrke, der måske rækker udover det sædvanlige...
